How It Works

Complete the sign-up form on this website or call 276-832-1016 for assistance. A member of the Sheriff Alert Team will contact you to confirm your information and activate your personalized calling schedule. There are no long-term contracts, and you may start, stop, or change your service at any time. Once your service is activated, our automated system will call you according to the schedule you choose. If you do not answer after 4 consecutive call attempts, or if you indicate during the call that you need assistance, the system will automatically notify 911 and request a wellness check at your registered address.

Your caller ID will display "DCS." When you answer, you'll hear: "Hi! This is your daily checkup call. If everything is okay, press 1. If you need help, press 3." Press 1: You'll hear, "Thank you. Goodbye." Press 3: The emergency notification process begins immediately, and you'll be advised to call 911 if it is a serious emergency.

You choose your own call schedule — from 1 to 8 calls per day. If you don't answer or don't press 1, the system will make 3 additional attempts. If there is still no response, or you press 3, 911 is notified immediately. The system will then continue calling your primary contact for up to 1 hour until the call is acknowledged. If no one responds, your County Sheriff's Office will be asked to perform a welfare check at your location.

The Sheriff Alert Care Calls program is available everywhere in the continental United States.
